AI Voice Agents
AI voice agents that answer before the second ring
Your phone line is the highest-intent channel you own and the easiest one to lose. A Sciquire voice agent picks up every call at 2am, on a public holiday, and during a Monday surge, then hands your team only the conversations worth a human.
What a missed call actually costs
Most service businesses answer between 60 and 80 percent of inbound calls. The rest hit voicemail, and the majority of those callers never call back. They call the next business on the results page. Meanwhile the calls you do answer are dominated by the same handful of questions: opening hours, price ranges, appointment changes, order status. Skilled staff spend their day on work a script could handle, and the complex calls that need judgement sit in a queue.
- Answer on the first ring. The agent picks up in under 500 milliseconds with natural turn-taking, barge-in support, and no menu tree. Callers talk the way they talk.
- Qualify against your criteria. Budget, location, urgency, service type, insurance, whatever your intake sheet asks. The agent captures it conversationally and scores the lead.
- Book straight into a real calendar. Live availability from Google Calendar, Calendly, or your practice management system. The slot is held before the caller hangs up.
- Escalate with full context. When the caller needs a person, they get a warm transfer with the transcript, intent, and sentiment already attached. Nobody repeats themselves.
- Write it back automatically. Call summary, tags, recording link, and structured fields pushed into your CRM, ATS, or AMS. No after-call wrap-up forms.
Plivo and Twilio telephony, low-latency speech models, your CRM or AMS, Google Calendar, WhatsApp for follow-up.

This assumes callers you miss would have converted at the same rate as the ones you answer. Many simply call the next business instead. Get the exact figure for your call mix in a free audit.
How it works
What is an AI voice agent?
An AI voice agent is software that answers and makes phone calls in natural speech. It listens to the caller, works out what they need, replies in a human-sounding voice, and acts on it: booking an appointment, qualifying a lead, answering a question, or transferring to a person. There is no menu to press through. Callers just talk.
- The call connects Your existing number forwards to the agent through Plivo or Twilio telephony, for every call or only when your team does not pick up.
- It listens Streaming speech recognition transcribes the caller as they speak, in English, Hindi, Gujarati, or the Hinglish most Indian callers actually use.
- It decides A language model works out the intent and picks the next step inside the script, rules, and knowledge you approve. Anything outside that scope goes to a person.
- It replies A natural voice answers in under 500 milliseconds, and the caller can interrupt at any point, just as they would with a person.
- It acts It checks live availability and books the slot, looks up an order or a record, or warm-transfers the call with the transcript attached.
- It writes it down A summary, tags, recording link, and structured fields land in your CRM, and the caller can get a WhatsApp confirmation.
Use cases
What businesses use AI voice agents for
Inbound reception
Answers every call, handles hours, prices, directions, and policy questions, and routes the rest to the right person.
Appointment booking
Books, reschedules, and cancels against live calendar availability, then confirms on WhatsApp.
Lead qualification
Calls new enquiries back within seconds, asks your qualifying questions, and books the serious ones with your team.
After-hours and overflow
Covers nights, weekends, holidays, and Monday surges, or picks up only when your team is busy.
Reminders and confirmations
Calls ahead to confirm appointments and site visits, so fewer slots go empty and nobody has to dial.
Status and follow-up calls
Order, application, or claim status answered from your own systems instead of a person reading a screen aloud.
Comparison
AI voice agent vs IVR vs human receptionist
Each has a place. Most of our deployments keep people for the calls that need judgement and give the agent everything else.
| Feature | AI voice agent | IVR menu | Human receptionist |
|---|---|---|---|
| Availability | 24/7, including holidays | 24/7 | Staffed hours only |
| Calls at the same time | As many as your phone lines allow | As many as your phone lines allow | One per person |
| How callers interact | Natural conversation, can interrupt | Press 1, press 2 | Natural conversation |
| Books appointments | Yes, into your live calendar | Rarely; usually takes a message | Yes |
| Languages | English, Hindi, Gujarati, Hinglish | Pre-recorded options only | Whatever your staff speak |
| Complex or emotional calls | Transfers to a person, with context | Transfers, without context | Best option |
| Updates your CRM | Automatically, on every call | Call logs only | When someone remembers |
| Cost model | Build fee plus per-minute usage | Platform fee | Salary, per person, per shift |
How Sciquire ships it
Live in under three weeks, not two quarters.
Every deployment follows the same path. We do not sell a demo and disappear. We map the workflow, wire the integrations, and stay on the line while the agent learns from real traffic.
Call audit
We listen to your actual inbound mix and pick the bounded, high-volume intents where an agent wins fastest.
Script and wire
Conversation logic, objection handling, and write-back into your CRM, ATS, AMS, or TMS. No rip-and-replace.
Live traffic
The agent goes live on real calls with human escalation paths in place from day one. Nothing gets dropped.
Feedback loop
We watch transcripts, sentiment, and resolution rates, then refine. The agent gets sharper every week.
In production
See a voice agent doing real work
Shreepad Group's inbound line depended on whoever was free to pick it up. We built a voice layer that answers first, asks every caller the same qualifying questions, and hands the owner a structured summary instead of a name and a number.
Sector playbooks
AI Voice Agents configured for your industry.
The intake questions, escalation rules, and integrations change with the sector. Pick the closest fit.
Clinics
Clinic phones peak exactly when the waiting room is full.
Real Estate
Portal leads go cold in minutes and most of them are unqualified anyway.
Ecommerce
Support volume in ecommerce is overwhelmingly the same four questions.
Agencies
Agency margin leaks through unbillable hours: qualifying leads that were never a fit, chasing onboarding documents, assembling the same report every month.
Startups
Early-stage teams do not have a process problem, they have a headcount problem.
Questions
AI Voice Agents: the questions clients ask first
Will callers know they are talking to AI?
Yes, and we recommend saying so in the opening line. Disclosure raises trust and does not reduce completion rates in our deployments. The agent introduces itself, states it can help or connect a person, and transfers instantly on request.
What happens when the agent cannot handle something?
It transfers. Every deployment ships with escalation rules from day one: explicit caller request, low confidence, negative sentiment, or any intent outside the defined scope. The human receives the call with the transcript attached.
Can it handle Hindi, Gujarati, or mixed-language calls?
Yes. We deploy multilingual agents that detect the caller's language and switch, including code-mixed Hinglish, which is how most Indian callers actually speak. Language coverage is confirmed during the pilot on your own call recordings.
Does it work with our existing phone number?
Yes. We port or forward your existing number, so nothing changes for your customers. The agent can also sit as an overflow tier that only picks up when your team does not, which is the lowest-risk way to start.
How much does an AI voice agent cost in India?
Pricing is a build fee plus a per-minute usage rate, and it depends on call volume, integration depth, and language coverage. A single-intent agent on a straightforward stack is meaningfully cheaper than one full-time receptionist. We quote a fixed number after the call audit, not before.
What is the difference between an AI voice agent and an IVR?
An IVR plays a recorded menu and routes the call on key presses. An AI voice agent holds a conversation: the caller says what they need in their own words, and the agent answers, books, or qualifies there and then. When it does transfer, the transcript goes with the call, so nobody repeats themselves.
How long does it take to set up an AI voice agent?
Under three weeks from the call audit to live traffic for a typical single-intent agent, with human escalation in place from day one. Agents that connect to several systems or cover several languages take longer, and we give you the timeline before you commit.
Can the AI voice agent make outbound calls too?
Yes. The common uses are instant callbacks to new leads, appointment reminders, and confirmation calls. Outbound calling in India has to follow TRAI's rules on consent and DND, so we set those checks up before any outbound campaign goes live.
Which systems does it connect to?
Plivo or Twilio for telephony, Google Calendar, Calendly, or your practice management system for bookings, your CRM, such as HubSpot or Zoho, for records, and WhatsApp for confirmations. If a system has an API, the agent can usually read from it and write to it.
